Specialist for system construction materials is new partner of the Fraunhofer-inHaus-Center

With the entry of the Proceram group into the partner network of the Fraunhofer-inHaus-Center with their Cerabran system construction materials , the areas of thermal insulation, functional coatings for buildings and fire protection are going to be steadily further developed in the think tank in Duisburg.

The Proceram GmbH & Co. KG belongs now to the partner network of the Fraunhofer-inHaus-Center. With the young company from Düsseldorf the interdisciplinary research and development community of the inHaus-Center gains a competent partner from the area of insulation, functional coatings for buildings and fire protection. As early as 2013 the Proceram Group develops new products and systems related to functional architectural paints for innovative insulation and fire protection systems in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmentel, Safety, and Energy Technology UMSICHT. “We are closely linked with Fraunhofer UMSICHT and got the connection to the inHaus-Center from the management at the institute in Oberhausen”, explains Christoph Dworatzyk, manager of the Proceram group.

Publicly supported projects could already be developed  within the cooperation which deal with the development of cleaning systems with an insulating effect based on aerogel, the analysis of cleaning systems, for example with long-term studies or measurements of the insulation effectiveness, and the development of innovative façade and interior color systems.

Joining forces for success

Proceram is taking an important strategic step with the entry into the industry network of the Fraunhofer-inHaus-Center to continue the success story of the company. “The Fraunhofer-inHaus-Center is an excellent location to present technical innovations of our Cerabran system construction materials and to offer workshops and seminars in a representative environment”, says Dworatzyk about the benefits of an inHaus partnership. As a member of the inHaus institute community, Fraunhofer UMSICHT is going to continue their research and development in cooperation with Proceram at the inHaus-Center. “We will the products and processes from our research projects onto the market and advance them to success”, adds Dworatzyk. “In the future more cooperative research projects regarding innovative ideas for construction materials are to be generated. “

Currently, two heat insulation plaster systems, a refurbishing system for WDVS, as well as novel exterior and interior colors with the corresponding primer for exterior and interior use are installed in the innovation center in Duisburg to show the characteristics of Cerabran system construction materials to interested visitors. “We are glad that Proceram is a part of the pool of partners in the Fraunhofer-iHaus-Center and we are excited about the new developments resulting from the collaborative research. The developed products and processes will be made available to the public in the inHaus-Center”, says Dr. Nina Kloster, director of the inHaus-Center. “The successful collaboration with Proceram and Fraunhofer UMSICHT is going to continue at the inHaus-Center and supplemented by sustainable industry and research association as well as the possibility of PR and marketing activities and the presence within the demonstration site.”

The Fraunhofer-inHaus-Center

The Fraunhofer-inHaus-Center in Duisburg collaborates with several Fraunhofer Institutes and many economic partners on the development of innovative products and systems. The main theme has always been the human being and their needs. In the creative think tank innovative systems and products from the cooperative research and development work are being developed, tested and demonstrated in practical application labs. The focus is currently on the areas of energy efficiency, building and building systems, the (further) development of smart measurement and energy systems as well as the development of future-oriented products and services for health and care.
